Bareboat charter means that you rent the boat without a skipper or crew. You are responsible for operating the boat or hiring an additional captain or crew if you do not have enough experience.

Yacht was pretty new and in very good condition. It was perfect balance of price and quality. Check-in: Guy from check-in wasn't well prepared and he was acting like it was his first time on this boat. He didn't know is there a second fire extinguisher or fire blanket, or how water maker works, or is there a bucket and other staff. For black water he showed me the flushing inlet valve instead of holding tank sea outlet so I had to read the manual to find where outlets are hidden. Boat was missing basic equipment like big knife, chopping board, ashtray, water hose adapter, big lantern. After a request just half of them were provided. Helm station: Helm on Excess 11 is very low and visibility is terrible. If you don't have someone in front you're screwed up. Damages: I was very cautions and was keeping the yacht safe and without damages throughout the whole trip. Unfortunately on the last docking, just in front of everyone from charter company, a light wind pushed my bow to the other boat and I scratched my boat on the side and other's boat bow.. Scratches were really small and superficial but the charter company charged me 500 euro (no VAT included). I think overpricing does not come from the charter company but from the third party company they rented to do the check out. Other than that we had a great trip and boat didn't have any problems. Engines, generator and water maker were working very well and without issues. Communication with charter company was excellent.
